Herbalist Holly Bellebuono offers a wide range of workshops and classes for visitors to Martha's Vineyard--perfect for an afternoon with a sister, friend, or spouse. These classes are ideal for beginners and advanced learners alike: whether you know very little about plants or healing and you want a beginner class on making remedies, or you are a nurse or a healing arts practitioner and you want to delve deeper into the pharmacology of plants, these workshops are designed to educate, uplift and inspire. GIRL'S EMPOWERMENT RETREAT
This wonderful retreat is especially for girls ages 12-15. It will be held at Yoga Haven and, wow, what an opportunity for these young ladies! The full-day workshop-style retreat will have these girls enjoying herbal teas and natural root beers (and learning how to make them themselves), stretching and strengthening with yoga and movement, getting natural food-based facials and learning how to care for their skin, creating Vision Boards, and exploring natural health and "Red Tent" with a caring and vibrant team of teachers. Early Bird Registration ends this Friday (only $28!) but even regular registration is VERY reasonable at just $35. This includes a healthy snack and even transportation from the VH ferry for off-island girls! HERBAL IMMERSION/PLANT SPIRIT MEDICINE
This one-day retreat-style getaway will be open to men and women interested in exploring the enchanting fun of herbs. In fact, it's going to be a day of Plant Spirit Medicine and not a bit about pharmacy and chemistry (which will be the focus of all my summer lectures and intensives). INSTEAD... this immersion will be to delight in the enchantments and magic and myth and story and connection to the green world. We'll wander through moist spring-damp trails to discover the freshest newest plants arising from the earth and green tips on the shrubs and trees we call medicine. We'll also gather on the woodland-sheltered deck of a lovely retreat house for a "playshop" where we'll indulge in all things sweet: herbal honeys!!! Together we'll make and sample a wide and enjoyable variety of honey-based herbal potions including syrups and elixirs and of course we'll have LOTS of delicious teas and even samples of meditative herbs, as we'll learn about the special, sacred, holy plants that bless our ceremonies. We'll also relax and experience a light-hearted plant spirit meditation so you can begin your busy spring and summer with the grounding of connection to the natural world.

On-Your-Own-Property Herb Walks These 1 1/2 hour walks are very popular because I travel to a person's own home to show them what grows around them. I provide a detailed written botanical inventory (habitat list) for later reference, and allow the property owner(s) to include up to three people at an all-inclusive fee of $75; additional friends and family are welcome at $25 per person. Larger properties (greater than 2-3 acres) accrue an additional $75 per half hour.
Herb Walks take place around the Up-Island region of Martha's Vineyard (i.e., the west side) throughout the summer. This is a beautiful countryside with meandering woodland trails, ocean views, ponds, barrier islands, deep forests, gardens, and ancient farmland. Please call or email to find out where and when the next herb walk will take place. Bring good hiking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, light-colored pants or socks, and paper and pen if you would like to take notes. All herb walks are $25 and last about 1 1/2 hours. Pre-registration is required.
